It is a strategic project initiated by UAE’s Vice President and Prime Minister His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum to execute a mission that will develop a Spacecraft for performing the hyperspectral data processing. Apart from this, it is also considered a partnership between the Arab Space Cooperation Group (ASCG) member countries. Hence, it has been awarded to the NSSTC in UAEU as the prime contractor by the UAESA.

Mission
Objectives

This satellite project focuses on providing hyperspectral observations all over the UAE and countries of the Arab Space Collaboration Group by building knowledge and capabilities on local ground. The data collected will then be used for spacecraft activities of Assembly, Integration, and Testing (AIT) satellites smaller than 250kg. Furthermore, the 813 satellite can develop hyperspectral data processing for producing applications that are not limited to climate change only. It will also encourage more Arab countries to collaborate successfully in space engineering projects for the future.
